Well, there ought to be a page full of video classes here for you to purchase at personally affordable prices but I am beginning to think I'm the only person who can't figure out how to assemble the right equipment, and then film and edit video and post it. If there's a glitch that can happen, it's happened. If any of the classes shown below appeal to you, drop me an email at firstname.lastname@example.org and I will notify you as soon as my tech elves fix some issues and teach me a few more tricks.
Oh, Gnome! Here's a free project I tried to put up as a PDF, but even saving a simple Publisher document to PDF is beyond my tech capability today. If you click on the photos you will get the whole image, and you can right click to snag them for yourself. You are welcome to print the directions to share for free with others. You are NOT welcome to sell these pages in any format. You can do absolutely anything you want with the ornaments you make. Find me on facebook, Dawn-Marie deLara and DM DeLara to share photos of your finished ornaments, if you wish!
Some LIVE ONLINE, YOUTUBE, &/or PDF classes in the works...
Paper Clay Water Sprite 3-part class, coming soon This class is fun for any skill level, but I think it's a good beginner class for face sculpting. The great thing about sculpting sprites is that they probably ought not look too human, so if your first try doesn't look as "realistic" as you imagined, you will still have a really cool fae creature to show for your time. Time, format and supply list coming soon!
Paper Clay Wood Sprite 3-part class, coming soon. This class is also fun for all skill levels, but I think it's one of the best for beginners. Wood sprites are shape shifters, so you really can't go wrong any way you capture the furry, leafy, beakiness of the creature. Push yourself as far as you enjoy the challenge, knowing perfectly imperfect is going to still be rather fabulous.
Hummingbird and squash blossom on plywood 3-part class dates tbd, email me if interested and I'll bump it up the priority list.
The Artful Journey Journal Class, coming soon. This is a 6-month weekly video class with live check-ins. I have taught this course live for several years, always adding and improving. We start by covering a standard sketchbook with images from magazines, calendars, clipart (some originals from me included), and a variety of fabrics and trims to finish the binding. You can do anything you want inside, including use it for other online classes you take, and each week you get a new activity from me. On the inside I'll start you off with some basics like pockets, calendars, fold out pages, and options for tabs, and then we move into what this is really all about: playful lessons and fun activities, often involving lots of cutting and pasting, which will allow you to explore your own depths, get to know yourself deeply, and bring your own magic alight in your life. Organize, explore, discover, design, document, and celebrate your unique way of being in the world! Not "Artistic"? Most of those I've taught this course to have said the same and then been delighted to discover that artistic ability is absolutely optional. If it helps, just call it visual journaling and get ready to get on board... just as soon as I learn a little more about editing video!
